The group from Australia was made up of couples in their 40s and 50s, so the single Couvret aged in his 70s, and his experience as a Prisoner of War in Nagasaki was unusual for the group, let alone an Australian visiting Japan. An interview with Couvret was conducted by the author and the interview was broadcast in Northern Kyushu (LOVE FM) over four weeks in 1999.
